Elephant Scientific Consulting considers data protection and privacy to be of paramount importance.

In this Privacy Policy, “Elephant” or “We” or “Us” or “our” refers to our website (https://elephant.sc and all associated sub-domains), along with products and services owned or operated by Elephant Scientific Consulting Inc (Canada).

This Privacy Policy explains if, how and when Elephant Scientific Consulting collects end user and client information, which may include information that personally identifies you (“Personally Identifiable Information”), how we use such information, and the circumstances under which we may disclose such information to others. This policy applies to users who visit Elephant Scientific Consulting website; or using one of Elephant Scientific Consulting services (including participating in an online study). We respect information privacy. Please note this Privacy Policy does not cover the practices of Elephant Scientific Consulting approved clients who may use Elephant Scientific Consulting services. Information we collect and how we use it

Contact Information: Although we do not collect such information, we will receive your contact information (i.e. emails, name) if you contact us through use of the Contact Us form on our website or an interaction with our sales or participant support team.

Usage information: We collect pages you visit on our website, what you click on these pages and the actions you perform, via tools such as Google Analytics.

Device and browser data: We collect information from the device and browser you use to access our services. Device data mainly means your IP address, operating system version, device type, system and performance information, and browser type.

Log Data: Like most websites today, our web servers store log files that record data each time a device accesses those servers. The log files contain data about the nature of each access, including originating IP addresses, internet service providers, the resources viewed on our site (such as the HTML pages, images, etc.), operating system versions, device type and timestamps.

Referral information: If you arrive at an Elephant Scientific Consulting website from an external source (such as a link on another website or in an email), we record information about the source that referred you to us.

Information from third parties and integration partners: We collect your personal information or data from third parties if you give permission to those third parties to share your information with us or where you have made that information publicly available online.

Account or billing Information

We do not collect any account information or billing information (e.g. credit card numbers, emails, etc).

Information Collected on Participants

When you come to our website to participate in one of our study (“Participant”), you first need to read a consent form. This form tells you that no information that personally identifies you will be collected and that our studies are confidential and anonymous. Explicit consent must be provided to participate in all our studies, and your consent may be retracted at any time during the study by exiting before the end. Apart from Log Data, Device & Browser Data, your test responses and the speed at which you are providing them will be the only additional recorded information (“Data Collected from Study”).

How long is information stored

All Data Collected from Study will be securely transmitted to and safely stored on our server for no more than six months.

GDPR – Participant Rights Identification Key:

At the beginning of a study, we provide Participants with a key tied to their data. If you contact us and provide this key, we can check the status of your Data Collected from Study and give you a copy.

Use of Cookies

Elephant Scientific Consulting does not use cookies on its website.

Disclosure of Information to Third Parties

We do not share your personal information with third parties other than as follows.
Service Providers

The data collected in a study, including your response to our test, and your response time may be shared with certain third-party companies and individuals that help facilitate technical and administrative aspects of the Elephant Scientific Consulting Service (e.g. email communications), or perform functions related to the administration of Elephant Scientific Consulting (e.g. hosting services). These third parties perform tasks on our behalf and are contractually obligated not to disclose or use Elephant Scientific Consulting Data from Study for any other purpose, and to employ adequate security measures to prevent unauthorized access to such data. However, Elephant Scientific Consulting is not responsible in the event that this information is disclosed at a result of a breach or security lapse by any such third party.

Law Enforcement and Legal Process

Elephant Scientific Consulting also reserves the right to disclose any Client User Information to: (i) comply with laws or to respond to lawful requests and legal process, judicial proceeding, or court order (ii) to protect the rights and property of Elephant Scientific Consulting, our agents, clients and others including to enforce our agreements, policies and terms of use or (iii) in an emergency to protect the personal safety of Elephant Scientific Consulting, its Clients, or any person.

Business Sale

If Elephant Scientific Consulting, or substantially all of its assets, is acquired by another company or successor entity, our Client Information might be one of the assets transferred or acquired by the purchaser or successor. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any purchaser of or successor to Elephant Scientific Consulting or its assets may continue to collect, use and disclose your information acquired prior to such transfer or acquisition as set forth in this policy.

Security of your Personal Information

The security of your personal information is important to us. We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. Examples of these include limited and password-protected access, high security public/private keys and SSL encryption to protect transmission. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

Elephant Scientific Consulting reserves the right to amend or modify this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to the way we collect, use or disclose Personally Identifying Information, we will notify you by posting a clear and prominent announcement on Elephant Scientific Consulting website or through your email address if contacted us. Use and disclosure of information we obtain is subject to the later of: (1) the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is collected or (2) any subsequent Privacy Policy of which you have constructive notice. Your continued access to or use of XLABS following constructive notice of material changes to this Privacy Policy shall constitute consent to any amendments and/or modifications.
